Daredevil fans’ prayers have been answered.
Netflix and Marvel announced the release date for second season of “Daredevil” by dropping a religious-themed teaser trailer on the show’s Twitter feed Thursday morning.
Hallelujah! All 13 episodes will hit the streaming video site on March 18.
Though few plot details could be gleaned from the one-minute, 39 seconds of footage, it features scenes from the first season of the acclaimed super hero drama painted as frescoes on the inside of a church.
Charlie Cox returns as the blind lawyer by day, superhero by night, who is set to face off against a murderous, gun-wielding vigilante played by “The Walking Dead” alum Jon Bernthal.
French-Cambodian actress Elodie Yung, who boasts a black belt in karate off screen, is another addition to the cast as the assassin and potential love interest, Elektra.
Netflix and Marvel announced the second season of ‘Daredevil’ will land on March 18.
Set and filmed in New York City, the second season of “Daredevil” also returns Rosario Dawson and Deborah Ann Woll.
Daredevil is part of Netflix and Marvel’s ambitious strategy to chronicle the comic publisher’s edgier characters. Jessica Jones recently bowed to positive reviews and series based on Luke Cage and Iron Fist are on the horizon.
The four heroes will eventually band together in a “Defenders” event series that borrows a page from Marvel’s successful movie strategy uniting its Iron Man, Captain America and Thor franchises for the studio’s “Avengers” flicks.
