Adele rocks Radio City in first concert in four years

After four years, Adele was “dying to do a f–king show” and it did not disappoint.

The 27-year-old singer was nervous but eager as she uttered the first hello of her comeback tour inside New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

“I love you, but I’m scared,” she told the crowd of her return during the taping of the concert special “Adele Live in New York City” last month.

Adele was introduced by “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon and belted out her hit single “Hello” as soon as the lights hit her face.

The intense emotional energy her vocals can bring to a room were certainly not lost over her hiatus.

To date, the ballad was the only track released off her now record-breaking album 25 and there wasn’t a single person who wasn’t mouthing the lyrics on the other side of the stage.

She went on to use her powerful voice to tease new tracks including “Water Under the Bridge,” “When We Were Young” and “All I Ask,” which she wrote with Bruno Mars leaving concertgoers in awe.

Loyal listeners are also in for a treat as she brings back some of her fan favorites.

First up was “Hometown Glory,” which she dedicated to the victims of the November terrorist attacks in Paris as the theater lit up in the colors of France’s flag, along with “Chasing Pavements,” “Set Fire to the Rain,” “Daydreamer,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone like You” and “One and Only.”

She also gave a flashback performance of her Oscar-winning title song “Skyfall” from the 2012 James Bond movie.

Stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Irina Shayk, Daniel Day-Lewis, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Donald Trump were among the lucky ticket holders.

Adele’s fiancé Simon Konecki and father of her son Angelo was also in attendance and she revealed to the audience that this was the first show he ever saw her do.

Before closing out the evening, her eyes welled up when she addressed her time away from the music industry, when she became a mother and underwent vocal cord surgery.

“Thank you for giving me the time to be with my baby,” she said.

That time was certainly on her side. Adele’s “25” sold 3.38 million copies during its debut week.

“Adele Live in New York City” airs Dec. 14 at 10 pm on NBC.
